I actually kind of agree with this.
"Kind of," because I whole heartedly disagree that he wasn't a good rapper back in 06.
He is a better artist today, tho.
But anyway, get over the voice he chooses to deliver in and he's actually going in.

From a skills standpoint I agree. His lyrics and rhyming are only getting better, but from a sound standpoint he most definielty is not in his prime. In 05-06 the thing that put him above everybody else was his swag and vocal deliveries. Even though this is rap we can't forget it is also still music and whether we want it to be or not, voice is a huge component of music, and frankly what wayne used to be a master at. At this point his lyrics have to be perfect for his music to be enjoyable becuase his sound is not near what it used to be.
from a skills standpoint at this very moment, he's just as good as anyone in the game, but from a sound and voice standpoint, he is bottom of the back, and until it improves, 05-06 will always be a better version of wayne than the current oneLast edited by jhoya101; 04-19-2016, 09:39 AM.

But reliable tools for comparing the quality of music and lyrics have been developed over the whole history of civilization so that we can rise above opinion and have meaningful analysis.
Careful analysis of Wayne's music and lyrics help us appreciate his genius and identify the best of his work. Wayne's album and two mixtapes in 2015 are absolutely among the top few best of his career, standing among No Ceilings, Tha Carter III and Da Drought 3 as his all-time greatest.
Again, this is not my OPINION. This is the result of ANALYSIS of the literary device usage in the lyrics, which points out his ingenious wordplay and helps show exactly where to look to appreciate the best he has to offer.
When people write about how Weezy has fallen off and how great Kendrick Lamar is and how Wayne's 2015 work doesn't compare to Tha Carter 2, they're talking out their asses, giving their personal impressions and opinions. There's no rational basis for it. There is almost no literary merit to Kendrick Lamar's rap. A lot of people liked Hilary Duff, too, but that didn't make her a genius. Tha Carter 2 might have sounded cool and won the popular vote, but so did G.W. Bush in 2004; that doesn't make him a good president. Weezy wasn't a great rapper back then. He grew and developed into the best ever; again, not opinion; analysis.

No sir. But he's spittin just as well as anything else he's dropped.
Has no one noticed the drastic decrease in cringe lines from Wayne? Last year he was damn near flawless unless your biggest peeve is for some reason his voice.
Everything he dropped last year was better than NC and everyone loved that.
He's been doin his thing on multiple features too. Even his disappointing ones are lyrically sound.
I think it's just fatigue and bandwagon hate. It's like it's contagious to say he's lost it when in reality he's sharper than he's been since 08.
Lol it gets me dumb frustrated
