  • Reality Check

We (most of us) are diehard Wayne fans. That means we understand that Lil Wayne is one of the greatest to ever make words rhyme and ride a beat. it's time's for a reality check. Being a Wayne fan is now taboo. He's not the next big thing, he's not the guy on 100 (relevant) features in a year, he's not young. We know that he's still the same Wayne with a different, high pitched delivery but he's not getting the recognition he should be getting. The question is, can Wayne get back to the level of hot superstar with (hopefully) the eventual release of Tha Carter V? Or should we accept that we are now a subpopulation of the hip hop community; who should make way to the Drakes, the Cole' etc? Just as an example, I know people who are still Ludacris fans. Can C5 bring him back on top or has the peak already been reached?

this is in simple terms how it works... people hate on wayne no matter what though people will still listen to his albums and mixtapes maybe not everyone is downloading his shit but if someone bumps the album/tape with a group that whole group is bumping it even though only one download is accounted for. another thing Jay isn't active but anytime he puts something out people listen. If Jay or Kanye were as active as Wayne in features and tapes they would get the same hate possibly. Us Wayne fans love getting new Wayne but if we're being honest Jay and Kanye put out a few songs per year unless its album season they hop on a few peoples song and are otherwise living their lives and touring.. What I'm trying to say is I love getting new Wayne as do other Wayne fans but to the non Wayne stans its overwashing them in a sense. Wayne will be considered a GREAT an ALL TIME one at that in my eyes and to hip hop fans in general he left many marks and created all kinds of flows/styles and even opened up new lanes for everyone, the thing is its not Wayne who is at fault for the disrespect he gets its on the fans past-present and possibly future ones.

There's a new peak coming. Atleast a peak like he had in 2011. When Wayne can sell his music again we're getting the hits everyone waiting for. With high quality music videos, quality features.

Hope u r right as right can get

        is that a inside scoop??

Try to give a clear statement next time Olly

2011 peak was the last peak
everyone liked his prior music which made that close to million sales possible after people didn't get what they expected with c4 n ianahb2 D4 follow up its hard to get that peak

everyone already knew him and his music and chart topping singles with chart topping hate

        people r forgetting now

i would like grown up wayne talking grown up shit like he said in that elliots interview
and a new respected peak among Wayne fans with high quality vocals

even the songs r good in 2015 the quality of the voice isn't
good record with good vocals like "WHAT U SAYIN"

i I know his situation but people won't consider that while listening even its for free
I call my dick life cause bitches makes it hard

He's rapping better than he's rapped before but unfortunately people are jumping on the "it's not cool to say you listen to wayne in 2016" bandwagon

So will you agree with me that he's rapping good as hell, but the pitch and beats suck?

lol idk man...he does have a lot of haters, but taboo to be a fan?

He still shuts down mixtape sites when he drops.

Lil Wayne, Drake, Chance the Rapper, Skooly, Rich Homie Quan, 2 Chainz.

Wayne's beat choice isn't very good in this era. But LA traffic had a perfect beat and with a (relevant) artist instead of lil twists verse I coulda seen it on the radio

I don't think he will reach a new peak when CV drops =/

But at the end of the day I'm just here for his music, I don't really care if he isn't relevant anymore

                        agree with this whole post

2015 wayne is technically a better rapper than 2008 wayne
