Damn I love it. I like 2 Chainz and Wayne on it. They bring out some fun times in each other, the album for what it is is very good. And hearing that C5 leftover in Smell Like Money brings me even more reassurance that C5 is going to be greatness.

But then he will spit some shit like on that currency track and make a nigga scratch his head like wtf - how can he rap this good and why don't he do it all the time? answer is: he gets on all the wrong beats. I been saying this shit for years. Collegrove is really not very good and I feel like by surrounding himself with sub-human-intellect rappers like 2chainz it just keeps him trapped in this territory. remember: some of Wayne's lowest moments were with 2 chainz. 2013 was mostly about BAD MAINSTREAM RAP - lol - and 2 chainz and wayne were leading the fucking charge. I wanted Wayne to drop more shit like glory, livin right, London roads, etc. ugh this is a drag. nigga needs to stop keepin up with the joneses and just play to his strengths like Kendrick, kanye, jay z, drake (usually) and all the best.
definitely, hes still pretty wet.. but its not quite as sharp as when he was peaking.. fat albert is pretty good.. i like rolls royce weather everyday.. makes me feel like its finally time to hear wayne in his original voice over some soul sampled beats again... that seems to be his best formula right now... think its the most agreeable sound hes bringing to the table right now..
basically.. think waynes best card to play... is to come back on that carter 2 shit.. hes gotta link up w an incredible team for it to happen tho..

honestly, to say nobody is rapping better than wayne in 2016 is just ignorant. granted, it's only our respective opinions, but there are many people rapping as good as- or much better than wayne in 2016. the first 3/4 of 2015 wayne was the best again IMO. even in smell like money those first lines about crack and panty-lines and getting blow like dandelions... come on. that sounds like some shit out of IANAHB2. yes, he goes in after that, but that's a weak-ass intro to the song right there. sometimes I just wish he would bring back his old flow. I really really do. It's not as if he's discovered some unique goldmine of creativity within this new approach; it's just getting tiresome. once in a blue moon he pulls out some surprising shit, but whatever... I just can't believe C5 isn't gonna be a return to form.
I was just listening to pop bottles and then tha mobb, and these songs are at roughly the same tempo as London roads (one his better songs lately). He could so easily be using his signature flow from before prison on some of the more traditional new beats.
Even when wayne gets an old school beat or something in the same BPM range he still just comes in with some weird fucking flow that makes his words seem so unnatural. Imagine C2 or C3 sessions or drought 3 wayne saying some shit like “I’m flexing on ‘em like torsos” or “I get blow like dandelions”.Nah, that nigga was too busy rapping about his Marc Jacob goggles and Gremlins and coming up with funny phrases within a comfortable flow. He’s just way way way out of his fuckin element now.

I could for a brief while around sorry for the wait 2 and FWA but now he's getting corny again.

honestly I think collegrove is not album material, some songs are ok some are just not gonna be listened to more than once or twice, it's just not a nice complete project, i think it's chaos. Only song and deliverance that was fire was waynes section verse, he fucking killed that, that's just my opinion.
