No Ceilings is a fuckin' bandwagon casual ass tape. It's only as loved as it is because it was released at the height of his popularity when that nigga could do no wrong in anyone's eyes. Except rock. He had just come off of the best selling rap album in years, in a time when sales were in decline because of the internet. Platinum in a week? Fuckin' amazing. He was either on yo muhfuckin' grandma's new single or in her iPod. Four Grammies. Heavy promotion of the hottest super-group since G-Unit...

No Ceilings was in the right place at the right time. But that shit is not classic. Is it good? Yes. But aside from the chick songs(which are the probably the best songs on the tape, and I HATE chick songs tbh), most of that shit is mediocre lyrically. Super corny ass bars EVERYWHERE. Bar for bar S4TW2 fuckin' obliterates it. Hell, bar for bar, NC2 obliterates it. The beats and shit are subjective, but ability wise this nigga was in autopilot mode for NC. Hell, everything he was on BEFORE NC was a better display of Wayne than NC. That unofficial tape Hottest Nigga Under the Sun is the monster Wayne. That's the nigga we should've gotten on Halloween, NOT NC Wayne.

A lot of these niggaz didn't experience mixtape Weezy until NC came out. And I understand ya first experience with something good is always gon be special to you. But when I heard that shit, I wanted to know wtf was goin on. D3 had good Wayne on it, but it was more of a group joint so that doesn't count. But NC Wayne couldn't stand anywhere near DD3 Wayne.

If anything, S4TW2 is even more impressive because it shows he's still capable of being coherent and potent about more than bitches after years of autopilot. S4TW2 brought a fuckin' tear of joy to my eye. NC slick jus made me cry.

Don't get me wrong tho. NC is straight. But it's not a better display of Wayne's range and ability with lyrics than S4TW2.

it was a good tape tho. and it is a classic, but its definitely not because of lyrics. i feel like its overrated because that was the first time wayne had really rapped that year. for the majority of that year he was singing and making rock songs. and when he did rap it was lukewarm most of the time
