just did some research, it's short for mtv direct effect. it ran from 2000 - 2006

it looks like it was basically a hiphop version of trl

they rebranded it into sucker free. i remember sucker free

didnt find anything to do with this performance but while i was looking i found this short clip of wayne introducing some song on the show a few years later
