The only reason it did its numbers was because of the hype of it being the last Carter album and Wayne finally leaving Cash Money officially.
Also the idea c5 came and went is further nonsense

Most of the songs were good at first, but now sound generic and outdated if we are being real.
And C5 is already forgotten about, no one is going to talk about it next year, its already a choir to even listen to it. Meanwhile, I could never get bored from MBDTF for example, coz its timeless and has alot of content from Kanye at that time of his career.
C5 shoulda been atleast something similar to MBDTF, but Wayne can't hold a subject for more than 30 sec, plus doesn't have the creativity to make it enjoyable anymore (Open Letter is boring to listen to for example).
Even Wayne can barely remember his own lyrics when he performs C5 songs live, because the lyrics are all over the place.

Just being honestyour expectations are way off wayne can certainly hold a topic did you not listen to FWA? his sound has matured drastically from just shitty punchlines lets not be delusional now
What are other rappers talking about that wayne isnt talking abouthe compared drizzy kenny and cole saying they speak about things which is fair but what is wayne not speaking about i dont quite get it
C5 second half lowkey highkey trash thats not something anyone can deny the song placement and picks could have been better but to say C5 is dissappointing or plain wack is a reach

Drake, Kendrick, Cole always release albums that give us some insight about their life in the end, Wayne doesn't, Wayne just gives us a punch of reused lines he already said in a mixtape, but with a different delivery.
C5 is alright, but as a "The Last Carter album", it was a let down...lets be honest. We waited 4 years for this lol, instead of giving us 25 random songs put together like a mixtape, give us some well thought out songs.Originally posted by ShakeWhy so negative all the time???

C3 SESSIONS, REBIRTH SESSIONS, C4 SESSIONS all had super meaningful music hell id go so far as to say some of the most emotive in hiphop history which is why ill always support leaks>official releases but thats a whole other discussion
and what lines did wayne reuse on c5...??? C5 was a completely new style we havent heard from wayne much more poetic C5 is one of the most emotive projects of the year from the mainstream circle i dont understand where you coming from
there were a few songs on C5 that shouldnt have made it to the last "Carter" release
(open safe, famous, problems, used 2) i do agree that song placement has always been an absolute joke in waynes catalogue
