Idk he’s grown within his same style. Songs like Dope New Gospel and Let it All Workout and I’m not even talking about the last verse. Gotdam even Back From the 80s showed some very mature lyricism

And he still does what he does best better than anybody. It isn’t broke yet so why fix it. I think his most mature work is everything from the Carter II era including the sessions. He honestly just doesn’t sound like tht vocally anymore. It was deeper back then which allowed for a mature sound to match mature lyrics.

He’s still the best love song maker on the business tho not even a debate and he definitely has shown growth in tht department

Deep Sleep showed he is still as nasty as ever as a lyricist and no one in the rap game can fuck with that.

On a better beat songs like Pick up your heart would be much better and would have picked up more traction.

I agree. At times he was more mature on the hot boys than now but he can do a lot more now. But I do also agree his beats are terrible. He’s gotta have the weirdest ear for beats.
