  • Rappers that were close to Wayne during his prime

Obviously Wayne was the best rapper alive during his prime and for me the greatest rapper ever, but which rappers were close to his level during his prime?
I would say Juelz Santana, The Game and T.I. ..maybe Cam'ron too
Charisma wise Wayne was miles ahead of them tho

I honestly can't think of anyone who was close to Wayne's level during his prime.

Sure Juelz kept up with Wayne lyrically on the tracks they did together but other than Juelz's other songs without Wayne were slightly above average. So again no one was on Wayne's level in his prime.

I think in his own way Kanye was. I'll make a case for 2000s T Pain anyday as well.

Sht Fab. Fab dam near got the best of Wayne on 6 Minutes, You Ain’t Got Nothin, and That’s Not Love.

Juelz pushed Wayne on handful of tracks and on poppin Remix and bad side, sometimes I prefer his verses

T.I shined on them two tracks they did together. i.e soldier and we takin over. Prettt much just as effective opening the song as Wayne was closing. He debadably got Wayne on soldier and is the only reason I don’t skip till the end on we takin over

And Kanye in his own right was dam near as big. Them verses on songs like knock you down, maybach music 2 etc. were crazy

Wayne was untouchable at his best but Fab, Juelz, T.I, and Kanye when on were pretty good

Like neither had the total package Wayne had but when they were feelin it they could hold their own

T.I was close and by close I mean light years away. Kanye was with him commercially obviously, that’s about it. I know Lupe had a lot of hype in like 06

you got a point about Juelz, he has one solo song on DJ Khaled's first album which was very good

Honestly... Kanye to this day is a better song maker, Wayne is great with spitting bars and whatnot but Kanye has and will probably always understand music better to build songs.

Kanye is like the goat hip hop artist so this isn’t a slight to Wayne lol. Wayne still the goat rapper
