On the real, I been thinking about the OG version of Mona Lisa vs the final one and like...Weezy deadass actually does take his time writing his lyrics, regardless of whether he claims to just hop in the boof and freestyle. The OG Mona Lisa shows him trying things out with similar lyrics and stuff.

The craziest thing about the OG Mona Lisa leak is that Kendrick's verse is EXACTLY the same, like he had that shit solidified five fucking years ago but Wayne's verses are so dramatically different, he really went to town on little revisions. There are some extra bars, a few lyrics in the chorus that got completely replaced, and A LOT of lyrics that get changed around or perfected; the one that jumped out the most is the french kissing lyric. It's almost the same, but he swaps parts of it around in the final version.

The OG version has "She open the door naked, they started french kissing but he didn't so moi, she left it unlocked, they didn't make it to the room so they stopped on the couch"

But the final version is "She open the door naked, she left it unlocked, they started french kissing so she didn't see moi" and honestly it just flows so much better that way. Maybe he freestyles the demos, but I think after hearing some of these OG versions I think he totally goes in after and really thinks about how to make the bars better.

I really respect that tho, he's a real songwriter. Part of me wants to believe Young Thug does that too cause he puts on the same claim but I feel like he puts more thought into his shit than he lets on too.

This is especially noticeable in that one Streets Talk tape he did back in 2007 where he was recording with Nicki. Dude literally re-recorded the same lines like 10 times before finding the "voice" and delivery he wanted for the bars. Unreal.

He doesn’t write...he freestyles, memorizes the lines goes and re spits them with the right character/voice he wants.
Then he will punch in and replace bars as he sees fit.
