Favourite Wayne Era?

I divide them into:
Hot Boy era (1999-2003)
Peak Wayne (2004-2008 )
Megastar Wayne (2009-2013)
Carter V era (2014-2018 )
Current (2019-2020)

Mine is personally 2014-2018

Going by that my favorite is absolutely 2009-2013. That was during high school when he was everywhere and then during college where I spent all day listening to Carter 4. Then IANAHB2 came out and me and my bro cracked up at all the crazy ass songs on that joint while partying or cruising.

Least fav is 1999-2003, was still a kiddo but even now I don't go back that far when listening

Yeah i rarely listen to early Wayne too, even though he has some great songs on his first three albums.

04-09 for me. But 01-03 as well as mid 13-15 Wayne is so underrated. Not his best projects outside of sq4 but the features during those times are brazy

Peak Wayne will forever be legendary! But I became a HARDCORE fan during the CV era so that'll always be close to my heart (lol that sounds so cheesy)

04-08 is definitely my favorite era. The music from that period is when his swagger was over 9000 and everything he touched turned to gold. The hype around him was insane--in concert, on the radio, in the streets, in the clubs, on all the mixtapes, featured on every album and had the internet going bananas. Some favorites from that era: Dedication 2, Carter II, Drought 3, Drought Is Over 2 & 4 and of course Carter III.

For me personally, I would have to say 08-13. Seeing him go from C3 to NC to Rebirth to IANAHB to SFTW to C4 to IANAHB2 was absolutely incredible. Everyone hated on IANAHB2 but I go back to that album more than C4 to be honest. After that era he started his slow decline & again this is just for me personally, has not recovered since. There are moments where the 'old Wayne' shines through, such as Sucker for Pain or Dreams, but they are very far few in between.

My favorite time periods are a bit different of a time breakup.

I'd say 2004 (Tha Carter) - 2010 (NC/IANAHB) is my absolute favorite time period, but 2015 (S4TW2) - Now is very close.

2011 (S4TW/CIV) - 2014 (IANAHB2 OG CV sessions) was a bit rough at times with simplified flow, more blatant attempts at 'Pop hits' and lyrics with over the top punchlines, and of course the reliance of dick, pussy, and sex references.

I never got in to Hot Boy era much at all.
