  • Has Wayne hurt his legacy by not retiring after C5 as he claimed he would?

I mean other than 2006-2011 can we say he had the best year over other people? 5 years in music is a great stretch but man, the lows have been so damn low.

Funeral a bump in the road
im sure we'll get some fire out of him after this though im holding out hope for VELVET
reasons: subject matter, certain sound etc it'll have more structure and focus which is what hurt funeral the most for me
also waynes 2015 run was super underrated and fire also FWA- SFTW2- NC2- GREAT FEATURES
very very strong year in waynes catalogue
if he stopped in 2014 would have sucked haha

I think as much as it's not my favorite, it would've been the way to go out after everything that had happened. he's had 2014-2016 as some solid years, but C5 to me just wasn't what I expected with everything surrounding it. as for it being the last thing we heard, it should've him burning out in his best he can possibly be. throw caution to the wind and just go off yknow?

2018 C5 wouldve been a great end if he just stopped making albums but still does feats/mixtapes. But I could always use some wayne music tbh and hes free now to so he can put out stuff he wants. But it wouldnt hurt to have called funeral a commercial mixtape lol.

Despite what I said earlier, Wayne is being overlooked. Funerals highs are incredible

I dont think wayne had best year every year from 06-11 from an unbias stand point tbh

I mean you wont be best selling rapper every year. No one is on top forever...

Jcole and Kendrick have only been at the top for one year Drake usually overshadows both of them

I think Wayne is actually helping his legacy by continuing to rap

                Biggest Rapper every year

                2020: Lil Baby
                2019: Drake
                2018: Drake (Wayne top 10)
                2017: Kendrick
                2016: Drake
                2015: Drake
                2014: J Cole (Wayne top 10)
                2013: Eminem (Wayne top 10)
2012: Nicki Minaj (Wayne top 5)
                2011: Wayne (Wayne top 1)
                2010: Wayne/Eminem (Wayne top 1)
                2009: Eminem (Wayne top 5)
                2008: Wayne (Wayne 1)
                2007: Kanye (Wayne top 5)
                2006: Jay-z

also how many fucking legends sold wood at some point in their lengthy careers and weren't as great as they were at their prime and they're still legends. To quote Eminem "happens to all of them"

Funeral was basically wood though, if it goes below that?
