  • Does what's going on in your life influence your take on the music?

Here's what I mean. I sadly was dealing with health problems right when C5 dropped. I love a huge chunk of the songs on there right now and probably could get into even more with more listens of the album, but because of what I was going through during my first several listens, the music is tainted for me in a way. I almost like the C5 OG version that dropped last year more because I don't associate it with any negative events in my life, besides that it also reflected how I had anticipated the album sounding back when it was meant to come out in 2014. Obviously this is really subjective, like imagine a reviewer on youtube tryna review albums with this type of gauge. From an unbiased perspective I probably like both versions pretty equally, just wondering if anybody else has had a similar experience where the music intertwined with their life experiences whether in a good or bad situation. Long story short it's just like hearing a song and it takes you back to a certain time.

    100%

I actually had a similar experience with C5. Was going through a lot when I first heard it, and let it all work out immediately became my favourite song from the album. The album got me through a lot of tough places, and I still find myself putting it on when something bad happens in my life lol. I think of it as my favourite wayne album (along with C3) but who knows? Maybe if I wasn't going through a bad time back then it wouldnt be (C2 would probably take its place)

Yeah, any Wayne project can take me back to where I was and what I was doing or feeling at the time. I smoked and sipped lean to C5 as a tribute to the goat and was celebrating victory with him on the better side of hard times, for example.

Absolutely. But more so the type of mood I’m in determines what type of his songs I wanna listen to. I try to listen to shit that either reflect my situation or reflect the mood I wanna be in
