I thought it all depend of the engineer mixing the songs but I do feel like Wayne picks the auto tune lol like there’s some auto tune songs I love from Wayne but there’s some songs where the auto tune just sounds so bad

I would think so, the reason I ask is the OLD autotune like 2007-2015 autotune seemed like he made songs with it in mind, if that makes sense? Me & My Drank for example was a song where he def had it in mind on how he wanted it to sound. now it seems like I can't tell lol. although I know the autotune is super similar to what the newer people are using.

When the autotune sounds bad, it's usually because it's recorded and autotune is put on later.

When it sounds good it's because it's been put on during the recording session, and the artist can playback the vocals and re-record the parts so they fit perfectly with the autotune setting. Autotune isn't some miracle effect, if u want it to sound smooth u need the right setting, and the right vocal recording.

So Wayne might hop in the booth, spit a verse, tell them to autotune that bitch and leave. thats a huge miss and hit strategy. or it might very well be the engineer who thinks his voice sounds bad and they'll try to fix it after Wayne's gone.
