  • Wayne thinks he's a singer

There is, in fact, zero singing on No Ceilings 1. Lil wayne raps on every song of the tape. +
Carter III, you might know the album, had no Wayne singing whatsofuckingever.
Yes he paved the way for the autocrooners with his auto tune soaked singing tracks from around 07 to 08 when is voice was so heavily impacted by cough syrup abuse.
Other than that, every fucking moment of Lil Wayne greatness, including the aformentioned CARTER III and No ceilings 1, but also Drought 3 and Dedication 2 is wayne exclusively rapping.
Somehow now with most rap / pop songs resembling his 07 auto tune style, wayne must be under the impression this is the style he has to go back to, except he can't, because it sounds ass nowerdays coming from his 38 year old ass. Someone has to intervene and step in and tell the guy fucking rap using an enjoyable and cohesive flow without all that non sense. NC3 is ass.

            I like the singing tracks.
TBH most of em are more memorable tracks that usually feature nice mellow vibe and beat.

He incorporated melody into Carter III rapping to a certain degree and arguably whenever he was rapping on some level. However, prostitude wasn't on the album, mrs officer isn't outright singing, an Lollipop is not representative of anything.
Fact is Lil Wayne was a fucking rapper when he was most successful. Are some of his best songs those where he's singing with auto-tune on max level? yes, check the quote under my username. But that was then, and it was a totally different wayne. Much younger and a pioneer. However this style is not working out for him at this point. No Ceilings 1 was straight rap, as a tape should be. You thinking mixtape weezy you think of a rapper that is slaying verse after verse after verse.

Im single is no singing record.
If it is its as much of a singing record as Hustler Musik, and I would rather call that melodic flows rather than singing.

i agree to a degree that mixtapes should lean to a more rap focused style but i feel like typical classic wayne YMCMB shi they cut corners on everything so nowadays they are reusing album songs and just drop them on a mixtape i don't think that wayne records to some of these like he did during the classic mixtape age where he'd turn a beat on and just go i think his literally lifting unreleased album songs and putting them onto released beats which is why some songs sound so disjointed and weird

but when he does do a specifically mixtape style its some of the better songs on the project like V8, COMME DES GARCONS, FOR THE NIGHT, AFRO honestly i think a BIGGER issue then "singing" wayne is these weed carrier, skaters, wayne kids (although they did well shout out to them) feats that just kill the vibe of songs like 3 HEAD GOAT for eg i loved waynes verse but its short af then i need listen to a skater try rap or DRAG EM where wayne hitting a unique flow then gudda comes and do the same shi he been doing since 2010 or DRIVE BYS where wayne goes dumb but then got sit thru vice versa dont get me wrong wayne always had his YM dudes on Mixtapes but i always felt it was better i dont know sequenced? and structured now these dudes just be in the way 4 real

personally i do really enjoy a melodic introspective style so songs like DEEP END, 2 DIAMONDS off this project i personally really enjoy and i DO truly think theres room for songs like this on mixtapes and albums but i get where yall coming from when u say u dont want these on mixtapes but i feel theres bigger issue then that

i feel another bigger issue is wayne emulating the new age flow and doing it poorly

Exactly. There is a clear difference between the two. Thank you homes.

Wayne can sing when he want to though.

His verse on Talk To Me Remix was flawless.

The real question is why can't he be consistent with his crooning. Some times its good and other times its terrible and its like Wayne can't tell the difference from when he's doing good or doing bad.

again, more like melodic flows than singing.
