I wholeheartedly think it's the beats he picks. Wayne needs some type of sample to get into his "mature" bag nowadays. And it's always sorta been that way through his entire career. Just look at BB King Freestyle. His subject matter was somewhat the same but his delivery, flow and elegance of it all made it stand out.

I just want another “How Can Something” or “Cry Out” where when he uses his own experiences, I feel an emotion towards what he’s saying. Not just like “oh shit that was dope” I want songs that will last decades like those.repetition is the father of learning
