  • Wayne got fucked over with the shift

Songs like Love Me, Rich as Fuck & others on IANAHB2 did well in 2013 but would’ve done even better in 2020s climate with substance not being a focal point in rap

Now that Wayne is back on his lyrical shit it’s not sticking like it would’ve if he released it in 2013 when lyrical rap was still pretty focal.

So basically, 2018+ Wayne would’ve done better in 2012/2013, while 2012/2013 Wayne would prosper more in 2018+

Wayne is always ahead of time. Rebirth album is a great example.

The issue with IANAHB2 was people didn't like Tunechi rapping about pussy on every song.

if rebirth never dropped, these new gen rappers would be totally different

That’s what I’m saying. We live in a climate where WAP was number 1 for some weeks. Trukfit Wayne would thrive in this era

uhh no lmao. wap is only popular because its 2021 and thats now "female empowerment"
people would still only play the singles off of ianahb2 so it wouldn't really change much it still wouldn't be over 2x plat

streaming era is heavily reliant on hits. for a lot of major releases (astroworld, championships, scorpion, IOP, Culture 2) the singles make up more then half of their sales. Without huge hits or multiple smaller hits its nearly impossible to go multiplatinum
