Honestly. I went into this thinking 99-2009 for sure. I think his 2007-2011 run is really his "prime"
I'd honestly have to say 2010 - 2011 and were great years.
2012 - 2013 he was hit or miss.
2014-2016 he had an insanely good run.
2017 / 2018 was had high highs and low lows.
2019 was - 2021 was okay.
2022 has been great.
99 - 09 Wayne any day primarily because of delivery. Wayne of today is “faster”, putting more words into a bar but older, slower Wayne used that empty space to drag and stretch words to make some of the most off the wall rhymes & connections and that’s what I miss the most. Combine that with the autotune, youth, prime “confidence”, effects of heavy lean use on his voice, etc. and you have a perfect storm.
Some examples I thought of while typing this out:
Just Lean
In The Morning
Can’t Miss
That’s My Nigga
Can’t Believe It + Remix
Girlfriend Ringtone
Tiffany Blews
MFN DEMOLITION 1&2!!
