well carter 2 was more "hip hop" as in no sell out records, his flow is better but he almost sounds like a smart NY rapper on C2. plus he had real rap song like Get Over and Hustler Music and all C3 really had like that was Tie My Hands. The original C3 was much better but it got leaked so many times everyone started to lose interest. When Lollipop dropped it brought in a different market. You guys realize all these Wayne haters didnt used to exist right? They all thought he was the sickest.
Yeah but the haters started coming in around the time Drought 3 and all that stuff was comin out beacuse people finally realized how amazing Wayne is. Which in turn makes people hate him beacuse they want to be different then the rest.
I really think if you rank all of Waynes albums it would probably go like this
Carter
Carter 2
The Block is Hot
Carter 3
Lights Out
500 Degreez
Also don't get me wrong Carter 3 was a good album but to Wayne standards it was decent. However, I give it a pass beacuse of all the leaked songs beacuse you would have to add songs like La La La and Trouble on the album that where fire.
The thing that the Carter 3 is missing is that replay value with tha Carter and Carter 2 you could start on track 1 and go through the whole album daily for a year straight and you would not get sick of it. I just don't think you can do it for the Carter 3 that got put on the shelves.
I feel The same Way! carter 3 seem like they just put radom tracks on it unlike the other 2 those seem like they had direction but dont get me wrong c3 had some good ones shoot me down tie my hands misunderstood you aint got nothing on me etc.

The Carter 2 was more of a cohesive album, though none of the singles did very well. The Carter 3 was an album full of singles. He couldve put almost any song off that album out and sold well. I think he realized what he had to do to sell more. Thats the biggest transformation to me.

Yea pretty much became more mainstream in order to capture a growing audience. Carter II was definately much better for me personally, but the newer followers would probably say otherwise.
