  • Lil Wayne & Bob Dylan

I noticed the post on LilWayneHQ regarding Wayne being given Dylan's part from the original We Are The World. I just happen to be a huge fan of both Dylan and the We Are The World performance. Do you think the similarity between their raspy voices was the reason or because of their focus on lyricism? Or something else? I'd love to hear any discussion on the topic.
    Weezy Meets Dylan

I'm tired of playing the same song who told the DJ bring it back, Dead Presidents, Bullet in Abraham Lincoln hat, Staring at big poster, I swear that he be winking back, Cut school sell crack, Sorry I'm just thinking back

I dont think this has to do with anyone making a comparaison with Dylan, the people who told him to do that first could ve given him another one too. They just took the most famous guy right now, I doubt those guys give a shit about Wayne's lyricism or even know what he s capable of

Re: Lil Wayne & Bob Dylan

Bob Dylan's current singing voice and Lil Wayne's are actually very similar.

Check it out: Lil Wayne sings for real on songs like Prostitute Flange Live on the BET Springbreak special

Bob Dylan raps on Kurtis Blow's song Street Rock

Bob Dylan's newer material is just as raspy and destroyed as Lil Wayne sounded on Tha Carter III at points.

Their voices aren't exactly the same obviously. I was saying that they held similar characteristics and were used for similar lyrically charged ends.

                    Their voices def have similarities.
And if Wayne was to be given any place, it for sure should be Dylan's.
