Re: Lil Wayne Philosophy and Literary Analysis

In the amount of time it took people to ask whether or not this is a good read and respond to YMCMFan's hostile verbal doo doo, someone could have simply read the article to figure out what it's about. It's obviously not as interesting as a new Wayne verse, but it does represent some of the only and first scholarship on Wayne. We just wanna take him seriously in literary and academic circles. He isn't just a good rapper--he's saying something. Or better yet, he's doing something. Wayne has the street cred; I wanna give him credentials.

If you think he's too simple, then y'all don't get the basics. (Carter II)

Pretty sure calling me a punk bitch can qualify as taking it seriously.

Literature = The ability to over analyse the shit out of something.

Actually if you look inside Waynes left rear pocket, you will find a socket full of bears and deers trying to find him beers, without the foam or lick her [pause] she needs to make me sicker before i frisk her rear!

Oh no wonder. Cuz his "pockets on creatine." Plus he's "not a rooky he's a pro / methazine fiend." Or is he?

I think Lil Wayne, in the song Rock Hard, said this: "My criteria is cash literature."

No one even knows what it means to have swag, other than to simply use a bunch of other outdated slang like "trill," "tight," or "the shit." These slang terms will be outdated in a few years (or sooner), but a true analysis will stand the test of time. I want this shit forever, man.

I am arguing that Lil Wayne has swag. That's why I'm not simply saying that he has it.

Speaking of hip hop and literature, I came across this review of a new Anthology of Rap that came out in book form. Those of you who don't hate literature (all two of you) should check it out:
