The building next to where I work got taken hostage it was NUTS, swat, all the streets around the bldg for 2 blocks shut down. Metro shut down. My bldg shut down, I couldnt fuckin get out of my building. took 90 min to know if it was safe to leave, another 45 to get out the city and 2 1/2 hrs to get home!! OMG! When I left he still had hostages, they shot him around 5 and freed everybody, I got home at like 6. Left the city at 3:30, shit started around 2?
Damn! Thats insane. I think the craziest its been here is when Obama showed up a couple "unexpected" times. And then when the G20 was in Pittsburgh. OMG. The building they were all meeting in was right across the road. Shit was nuts. There was like 5 blocks shut down in every direction, metal detectors on the street, cops, secrete service, the whole 9 yards. I didn't go downtown at all that week. Our building had a ~10 foot fence around it:
The colonel told us if we were seen on TV we were fired. Lol.
LOL obama came to my school 3 times. First time he was standing right outside of the student union, unprotected, giving a speech, no big deal. I was like........who's that? LOL it was in like 06 before people REALLY knew who he was. 2nd time it was during elections time, NUTS, I had to work, on campus and watch all the shit go down but I couldnt go . 3rd time I couldnt wait to go, soooooo happy couldnt wait........day before, caught the fuckin swine flu......I didnt recover 100% till december There was an outbreak on my campus and I got like 3 diff kinds of sick from it between september to december .
