It's seriously the most amazing tiny software I've used. I messed around with it earlier today to see how it works and what not. Made a test .zip file, password protected it, made a .txt file containing possible solutions, and let it run. Took just a minute or two. The difference is I knew what the password was so I knew what parameters to set up.

But theres a setting that eliminates false positives, which in the long run could save a lot of time.

Can't you just put a brute force attack and it'll just try every letter combination for each letter of the password etc?

Yes, it can do that. What I was saying though is you can have it search the words in the dictionary (.txt file) and then it will try to unzip using that password. If it doesn't work, goes to the next one. So instead of having XXXXXXX possible passwords, you're left with 1.

So what I did as a test was:
fcrackzip -b -l 1-8 -D pass.txt 1.zip

Which in English is --- Run fcrackzip using brute-force (-b), with possible password of 1-8 characters (-l 1-8 ), using Dictionary Mode (-D ) from pass.txt file, on the 1.zip.

We would get the album before the brute force could go through all the combination's. Trust me.

I wanna see how this works without me knowing what the actual password is. So, would someone make a .zip file with a text document or something in it password protected and send it to me? Just to see how long it might take.

Trust me bro lol. You won't crack that Kanye album folder. I REALLY wish you could. It just won't happen.
