Lil' Wayne is Talentless

First of all,I'm not a hater of Lil Wayne or anything I actually consider him as my favorite artist and that's the reason I registered here besides I wanted to ask this question that's been on my mind for a little while.

I'm from Saudi Arabia and Lil Wayne's popularity has hugely increased in the past couple of years here like every teenage guy must have at least heard of him and all that. Anyways, I had lately read that Lil Wayne doesnt write poetry, in other words , he gets other people ( ghostrappers or whatever ) to write down his lyrics which was kind of a shock to me because you know he's a rapper and lyrics are the most important factor a rapper gets renowned for. people were sayin that Wayne is the most overrated rapper and cant be the best rapper alive and I figured, why not, if all this fame came out of just performing and not actually rapping, then somehow, the guy is overrated, hopefully not, then I said to my self, there might be something I dont know that got Wayne to be like the second most popualr artist in the world according to MTV.com and I started googlin stuff like "why is lil wayne so popular" and I all I found was some stupida** sh** that was totally unreasonable like "he is so popular because only people from the suburbs listen to his music" and I was like "were all the 1 million people that bought his album the carter III on the first week from the suburbs too?" sh** dont make sense mane :p .

I actually listened to his latest album "Rebirth" and although I'm not a fan of Rock I liked it a lot unlike so many of his fans I also like his "ugly" voice

SO plz help me out here, what are the "reasonable" reasons of Lil Wayne's Fame?? reasonable reasons is that even a sentence, well, I'm no native speaker

how can I reply to whoever claims that Lil Wayne is totally overrated? is this a better format? plz convince me that he's NOT

He doesn't write, his last written bars was on the song called 10,000 Bars (35 min long)

but no one writes for him, and you can kinda hear it too, in A Milli Free-Mix he goes like ''work on that carter 4 YUP! .. I ain...''

sometimes he says just something stupid in his music, very off-topic, and weird, would he do that if people writed for him?

and, is there any proof he has ghost writers??

Go watch The Carter Doc, that'll change your view about him. Right now Lil Wayne is the best rapper alive.

i recommend you watch tha carter documentary or nino brown story which shows him recording.. off the dome
pieces of the song at the time.

yea wayne doesnt ahve gohstwritters but he doesnt write either he just records watch the crater doc n nino brown 2 like ppl have suggested itll help u alot

Ok, just because he doesnt write doesnt mean someone else writes for him. He thinks about what hes gonna say before he actually goes in and raps it. He basically comes up with all the lyrics right before he records everything.

He's so famous mainly because a lot of artists have him on their songs. He has catchy lines that people like to hear, and quote. He's also constantly releasing music so thousands of people are always listening to it.

Also he has so many fans that share his music with other people that end up liking his music.

His music is also just good, lol. Like the beat, his flow and lyrics-sometimes make it a great song to listen to.

So to "respond" to people that think hes overrated....like first of all the people that find him overrated are his haters who dont take the time to listen to more of his music, and just end up listening to the mainstream stuff thats not as good as his "underground" music. & the mainstream stuff always gets over played, and annoying..which makes people not like him. Also since hes always on the radio I guess people get tired of always hearing him, and end up hating him.

Anyway...you just have to tell them that they obviously dont listen to his music enough to know that hes a good artist unlike no other. His delivery is different than others, they just dont know what hes capable of. He made a rock album that not a lot of people really saw coming. And he can change his style so easily, he has so many songs, and hes always sounding a little different on them, which makes the song a lot better & makes him unique. So therefore hes not really overrated because I guess people just dont understand..hes misunderstood. And they dont know what a great artist he is cause they dont even bother. His life=music, thats what he pretty much loves the most. Okay i done lol. I hope I gave you a good response...I know I went a little overboard

but in the documentary I also saw wayne gettin kinda uncomfortable when that interviewer when asked him about not writing poetry.

^ That's the reason for his popularity. He's a smart guy and also a selfless guy at the same time. Throughout his career he never thought of himself as too "big" to get on a less popular artist's song. Instead, he would just jump on anyones and everyones songs. He would go on songs of different genres so that those fans would hear him too. Pretty soon, he had fans from all genres. His popularity can easily be attributed to the volume and diversity of his music!

Also - there are no ghostwriters and never have been!

How the hell does he need a ghostwriter if he supposedley wrote for Dr. Dre's Detox and also helped write Best I Ever Had
