i have a math-test tommorow and i really need to know how to figure this question out, so please help me.
Between the years of 2001 and 2002 the VAT was lowered from 25% to 6%. A book costed 56kr(swedish currency) with VAT. How much did it cost the year 2002?

Take the 56 and divide it by 1.25 (100% for the cost of the book + 25% for VAT) which will give you the flat cost of the book. Then take the number you just got and multiply it by 1.06 (100% for the cost of the book + 6% for the new VAT), and that will give you the answer. Hopefully that makes sense
