Hey guys. Wanted to run something by ya.
Instead of another Track Challenge, I wanted to host an audio battle. 8 spots, winner takes the glory and bragging rights. Winner will also get a cool little sig to rock, showcasing their win and their championship.
This tourney will consist of three rounds: Quarterfinals, Semis, and Finals:
Quarterfinals - Best 16 bar acapella // 16 bars, all heat, no beat. All you have to do to enter, and the best way to showcase your style, ability, and prove why you're the best
Semifinals - 32 bars over a chosen beat // Double up the bars, add some rhythm to it.
and the Finals - Must make best full length song with one of three beats // This includes a hook, good mastering, and even concepts. There will be three beats to choose from. Winner takes all.
TO ENTER: Put together a 16 bar acapella and PM me by Monday, April 11 @ 11:59pm. Entrants will be placed in random slots, 1-8, on a first come first serve basis. If we have 16 people, then we'll start a 2nd bracket. The faster the turn around, and the faster people are able to send in material, the more of these we can have. So if you are interested and you want to win, make sure you get your stuff in ASAP.
JUDGING: Independent Judges have been contacted. They will rate every song a specific scale, with pros and cons. All entries into the tournament each round will be posted in a new thread, for all to hear and give comments on. Feedback from both the judges and the audience will determine winners. I WILL NOT BE A JUDGE, so you dont have to worry about me having any bias on who wins. I'm just Emceeing this thing.
RULES: (1) If you dont post by the deadline, you are automatically disqualified. (2) NO DISSING, this is an audio battle based on skill. We arent here to diss one another, at least not in this one. Every bar you write needs to be your best material you can come up with at that moment, not aimed at anyone else (3) The judges + feedback from audience determine the winners. Fair as possible. No whining (4) First track submitted will be the one used. No track after that is eligible (5) You may drop from the tourney at any time, just leave me a PM or message in the thread. (6) All tracks must be sent to MYKILL by the deadline. Please refrain from posting tracks in the official thread. (7) In the event that a new rule is made, you will be notified and the current deadline will be extended.
The idea is to get this going, get some winners, and make another one asap. This is a good way for some of you guys that are new to recording to get some practice in, and for some of you new guys around (like Lanny and Jayrme) to get some rep in The Studio. I hope that you guys like this. I'm eager to see our first "Fiyah Spitta" Audio Battle Champion!
