Former NBA star/ESPN/ABC studio analyst and Hip-Hop enthusiast Jalen Rose is getting rid of his tricked out, original Dukes of Hazzard 1969 Dodge Charger this weekend. Rose, who had the car's controversial confederate flag replaced with his nickname "Longboy," also installed an Alpine sound system, changed the original "01" to "05" (his jersey number) and had the back of the vehicle autographed by John Schneider, who played "Bo Duke" on on the series. Jalen Rose is auctioning off the vehicle starting on May 22nd through eBay Motors, to benefit the Jalen Rose Leadership Academy in Detroit. “The ‘General Lee’ is one of the most well known cars in American television history,” Jalen Rose said. “I am proud to own such an esteemed car, but it means so much more to benefit the lives of Detroit youth with the launch of the Jalen Rose Leadership Academy this coming September. Funding for schools is essential to their overall success, and I saw the auction of the General Lee as a key way to help raise money and awareness for the school.” The "no reserve" auction's minimum bid is $45,000.
