Na UK music market is really strange.
In urban areas rap is generally appreciated. But apart from that not really. The stuff from America which really sells is like Black Eyed Peas, Party rock anthem, Like a G6, music like that, not really hardcore rap. Even if a rapper gets number one here it is hard for them to maintain it, apart from Eminem. Take this for example, the only time that Snoop dogg got close to a UK number one was when he had Justing timberlake with him, and even then he only reached number 2
