Lil Wayne and 50 Cent are both prepping the fall release of their respective albums, “Tha Carter IV” and 50′s as of yet untitled work. In keeping with the masses, they’ve dropped new tracks that could give a hint of what’s to come from their much-hyped upcoming releases.
Lil Wayne’s “Put The Light On Me,” produced by “A Milli” and “6 Ft. 7 Ft.” mastermind Bangladesh, comes off a mixtape from DJ Spinatik. The mixing is sub-par at best, but Weezy’s verses come through strong. Wayne’s wordplay is at full force here as he manages to pack Bruce Lee, hula-hoops, and Lucy Liu references into 4 bars.
We can’t say as much for 50 Cent‘s “I’m On It.” The casio beat and “I’m so rich” rhymes sound a bit tired. But, hey, who are we to say it wont end up getting top radio play. Remember: 50 can sell anything.
