Grammy-winning rapper Lil Wayne is following in the footsteps of rap mogul Jay Z after announcing plans to launch his own line of luxury watches.
It looks like Lil Wayne is expanding his fashion empire outside of Trukfit. The New Orleans rapper has partnered up with Parisian watch and accessory company wize&ope. Weezy is now a "major shareholder" in the brand wize&ope, which was created by two Parisian businessmen, Victor Louzon and Benjamin Bettane. Wize&ope, which is named after two fictional characters who came from outer space, offers its flagship watch, as well as other sunglasses, toys, headphones and accessories. Wayne celebrated his new partnership by stopping by the company's flagship store in Paris the other day.
The Young Money leader has already released a statement on his new business situation.
"My personal style, as well as my everyday lifestyle, has always been about individuality and being open-minded. I was drawn to wize&ope because of their amazing design, fresh packaging and their support of individuality. I'm excited to bring wize&ope watches stateside and inspire their future collections." (Statement)
Earlier in the week, Wayne popped up overseas in France alongside Cash Money's Birdman and Mack Maine.
Last night in Paris, YMCMB's own, Lil' Wayne took to the stage to do his thing for the European fans. Weezy is in the midst of his European leg of his tour, and hit the stage to show out for his fans. He did his thing and ran through a number of his hottest tracks, giving off his uncanny delivery and energetic stage show. He then surprised everyone and brought out his Cash Money familia, Birdman and Mack Maine, to rock the crowd for a minute. The fellas didn't disappoint either, showing out, having fun and giving back to the fans. (Stupid Dope)
