i think it comes down to "WHO" can give "reputation"...

once a certain "rep #" is attained, they should be able to hand out rep themselves.

maybe that would allow the more "mature" members/all the mods the ability to +/- rep accordingly, without the bullshit.

reputation = what the "community" (mods/veterans/highly "repped" members) thinks of you, and the ones that wouldnt be able to +/- rep, would still be able to "thank" and up their "rep#" enough that they themselves can hand out rep.


jus some "thoughts".


edit: and maybe >5 "thanks">10 "thanks" = +rep points

Nice idea, thing is, I don't think we can do that, I think only admins can give out reputation but maybe Danny can alter the permission masks..


So as of now do people want..

when +rep is used correctly, it works well, imo. so for now, i'd say turn off -rep.

and if someone has something slick to "say", they can quote me and try it. instead of pussy-footin around a -rep.

Yeah I've never been a huge fan of it..but would you prefer it with negative turned off and the Thanks system inplace as well as it then? I kinda didn't think of having both with negative rep turned off when doing the poll ha :/

I think that we should have both systems but there should be more detailed reasons for neg rep and if a mod doesn't approve then a warning should be given to the person who misused the rep.

I think the -rep should be turned off until you get like 20 post for new members, so they can get a fresh start on everything and have some green bars.

cuz i know for a fact new members get -rep over everything, its like a welcome to the hq thing.

idk jus a idea, i truly think we dont need a thanks thing. I think its fun and a challenge to get good rep. but the -rep you can get for anything.
