I think that we should have both systems but there should be more detailed reasons for neg rep and if a mod doesn't approve then a warning should be given to the person who misused the rep.

Yeah that would be ideal. Although if it was possible I'm sure Danny would have that feature turned on because I know a lot of negative reputation comments are pretty insulting lol

cuz i know for a fact new members get -rep over everything, its like a welcome to the hq thing.

i know for a fact this isn't true. and i've voiced my opinion plenty, just respectfully and properly.

i also have yet to make a thread, after 2,800+ posts.

so, in my opinion, if you're a new, respectful, well-mannered, calm, member. there is no reason you shouldn't be able to "start off" well.

I understand this, but your aslo not the one giving -rep, you cant know forsure who does what but im just saying you get a - rep over anything. theres 1000s on users on here who are immature and everything.

you cant give a proper opinion without someone complaining about it. so they -rep you and talk shit to you.

if there were more mods on here then us users this site would be better.

and i KNOW for a fact if u have a dillion red sticks no one is gunna listen to u.

so i actually think the thank you thing is cool, but also we should keep the green sticks and use them as like points just like the +rep but just as thank u's and delete the -rep. if u dont get a thank u then u dont.

yeah same here. but i think that was only cause i started out by helping people with requests. so who's gonna -rep somebody for trying to help them out. on the other hand though i have seen some new members who don't seem to understand that you can't just say whatever you want to people. some new members just come in here to start shit when really its a place to discuss music and life in general, not argue about it.

but i think getting rid of -rep and adding the thank system would be a good change. i mean the worst thing is it doesn't work and we figure something else out.

Disable neg rep to non-staff, or if not, make it so EVERYONE can see who repped them, positive or negative. The fact this isn't already the case astounds me.

The thank you system is a damp squib IMO, I'll use it sparingly but the more options we have the better IMO.

I agree, if people can see who repped them then there will be less bs -repping for no reason and will make the reputation system more accurate.
