Well ive actually seen quite alot of communities and forums having a thread like this, yes its possible and is very useful. members request a username change, however the admin can consider giving it to those that have say for example "Earned it".

A trustworthy/longterm/Loyal/Friendly/Dedicated member for example could be given the username change he requested. Whilst the ordinary member won't.

I dunno, I think that'd be pretty cool if its a screen name you register with vs a 'visible name' or something like that, that the board sees. Y'all know what I mean, its like they do on some sites/messenger apps.
