    Re: Reputation System

I dont think you can add a reputation system with the current forum(PhpBB). You need Vbulletin for that.

    (Right?)

Nope, phpBB has repuation modifications. Pretty much all big forum softwares have them. It's easy to install too if i remember.

EDIT: a quick search on the official phpBB forum and i found this:

            Re: Reputation System

I have been on forums where they have used this system before and it just doesn't work out half the time. People mistreat it and post negative rep for no reason and it eventually leads to mass controversy.

On the MLG forums they have this system. It works out great with a lot of members. And it can't really lead to controversy as previously stated because the name of the person who posted the reputation doesn't show up unless they post it in the comment.

Danny, you should look into this my dude. It could possibly help bring the forum closer together. It could also show the people who are actually helpful on the forums rather than people with 5000+ posts of smileys or useless comments.

EDIT: The MLG forum is hosted by vBulletin not phpBB

Ah, thats where the places I have been were different. They didn't show who was posting the rep or why. If so, that would be good.

Or you could just use a props button, that would work also
