  • A couple of things to keep in mind about the mods.

-Theres two names on the board for each forum. So those names are those that control those forums. Otherwise, we are just regular members and have no control over what goes on there. So if there's something going on, PM that mod, or a global mod. Or if its urgent, then PM one of the mods who arent on that section, or bring it up in convo and we'll relay it to the right people. No need to say it a buncha times. B/c a lot of people were asking me to do shit about the randomness that was going on in the General section, and im like, I cant do shit!!! LOL. ....which brings me to:
-Just b/c we arent doing anything doesnt mean we cant see it. Stuff does go on behind the scenes in places where either regular member cant see, or in PMs. So dont assume we arent handling stuff just b/c you dont see stuff actively happening. Usually we go to the right mods to get stuff done and then have to wait for it to get done when they're available.

Edit: Oh and if you see shit happening, dont jump in. Dont write or or or 'wtf' or call them retards. Its annoying that they do stupid crap, but you add to the spam. And if one person comments, dont have a buttload coming after cosigning. That's also spam.

Re: A couple of things to keep in mind about the mods.

MsStar is completely correct. We as Mods do all talk amongst each other and let each other know of anything that's wrong or needs to be dealt with. Also remember the time zone differences. Like for that thread with just spam pictures for 20 pages, me and Safe_Kid are both from the UK and that all happened when we were asleep, we can't deal with things in our dreams but I dealt with it as soon as I came on this morning.

When active and valued members of this community begin to post spam then it creates more chaos and mess. A lot of spammers either want downloads or attention. If they stop at around 10 posts just PM a Mod of the section or a Global or Danny and we'll deal with it as soon as we can. If they continue to spam it is for attention, just ignore it and do the same thing but let us know that they have around 50 posts or something and we'll make sure they receive a ban quickly as they are more likely to come back and continue to spam for attention.

Another problem is that long time members or very active members, hell anyone that actually uses the forum correctly, when they begin to spam it sets a bad example to new members and they may think that they can spam as well. This leaves really only two options in my eyes, come down on active members who spam and give out warnings or for those members to not spam.

I Totally Agree With The Last Part Of That Star. But Sometimes You See Ridiculously Retatred SPAM Like Omg or Lol , Thats People Just Trying To Get there 10 Posts To Aces The Download Section. That Irritates Me So I Think We Should Have An Official SPAM Thread In The General Chat Section, For Those New Members Who See It Fit To SPAM In Threads. Even Though There Not Here To Contribute To The Site That Would Cut Back On SPAM A Lot.

But I Realize What Your Saying About The MOD's And How They Can't Control The Other Sections.

But what's the likelyhood of a noob knowing to come there though? That's like going to a new city and knowing their weird laws. It would help but that's just not gonna happen. I stumbled onto this site. And I mean I have the good sense to go write stupid shit all over, but that's just me. Most people know how to act, a few just need some help, and sometimes you get that rare retard. Let the mods deal with it.

Right, but someone always speaks first and is like uh you're in the wrong section, or this has been posted, or WTF. Its when multiple people come behind and then say the same stuff, its like you're just as annoying! Unless the person just posted the wrong thing and you're correcting them, why keep commenting and keep adding to the crap?

Re: A couple of things to keep in mind about the mods.

So I know I am online for a good majority of the day, especially on weekends, but there will be many times that I will miss something. I try my best to keep everything clean and organized, notice that there is a huge difference in the amount of "30M2NO" threads popping up. I am getting several messages from normal members with brilliant ideas all of the time now. One example of a brilliant idea is a Lil Wayne Track of the Month, which I will be starting tomorrow. So I am constantly trying to make things more interesting with the forums.

Tuneche, as far as the whole Official SPAM Thread goes, I think it's a horrible idea and would make needing 10 posts pointless. I'm not trying to bash your intelligence, but if you are going to make a thread like that you might as well remove the 10 post policy completely. The smartest idea would to either remove the policy completely or make it a one week wait period (as seen in a different thread).

Finally, there is no need for anyone to point out spam. If we see it, it will be deleted, plain and simple. I'm tired of seeing a post that says "lol" from a new member and 3 people jumping in saying "SPAM, mods delete". It will be taken care of, from now on if I see that, your post, along with the spam will be deleted. And to the smiley face issue, I think that Danny M has made it pretty clear that it will not be accepted. Mod or member, if I see a smiley face with no actual opinion or thought, your post will be deleted.

So yeah, I'm Artille, if you have any questions or don't agree with something, then message me, or you can post in this thread.

Right but those are the people that you should ignore b/c clearly they arent here for anything but to be dumb....They wont post it in an 'official BS' thread. They dont care. They're probably paid to do that stuff to advertise, they dont care where it goes.
