cause we all fans of music, right? leaks aint gunna do shit to the numbers.. drop a track, make a couple dozen people's week, i say go for it dude.
Um... leaks kill numbers... especially like a month and a half before hand.
do they really? what proof do u have of this??? .....
oh ya. thats right. there is none. they dont do kill the numbers.
You are the dumbest motherfucker around. OVO HAS heard tracks, I havent heard any but I know quite a bit about the album. Leaks absolutely kill an album. EX: Rebirth. Why would people buy it when it's available for download a month before hand. I swear to god, some people shouldn't be allowed near a computer if they don't know what they're talking about.
no sir. YOU are one of the dumbest motherfuckers around. leaks dont do anything. In fact, they might even raise hype. if a leak happens, some people listen to them, some hold off. regardless, most of those people will still buy the album. you my friend are a fucking idiot bring "Rebirth" into this becuase it is a prime example of how leaks DO NOT affect sales. It sold 176k in the first week, very good considering its theme and not well recieved singles (besides Drop the World).

there is no proof that leaks kill the numbers. If anything it makes stans feel obliged to buy more than one copy because they think buying 3-4 copies will help the sales. [/quote:2ggxxn7v]

    Rebirth - 2 month leak = 176k first week
    Carter III - 1 week leak = 1,000,000 first week[/quote:2ggxxn7v]

How do you know that wasn't because of the album being worse than C3?

A lot of people liked C3 way more, it had way better singles and a lot more hype, much better reviews too. The whole rock-rap probably turned off a lot of people too.

                      jdmasfuck

Anyone else care to say offensive things to other members and join these 5?

Quit bitching and arguing. Leaks do hurt sales, hell even after an album is released and uploaded online it hurts sales because a lot of people won't buy an album, they'll just download it. Have you lot ever realised that independant or smaller artists don't get leaks? Or they get good leaks?

Just look at Wu-Massacre, whole album leaked like 4 days before release date.
Tech N9ne's new EP was shipped early to some people in the US and still didn't leak until 3 hours before release date.

That's just 2 of the most recent examples. The bigger you are the more your shit will leak and the more people will download it without buying it.

It works the other way too. Tech N9ne told people back in '01 I think to go and download his shit without paying for it, guess what happened it boosted his numbers.

So quit talking about leaks affecting sales, they obviously do but not as much as you'd think.

As for another leaked track coming, if anyone here has one then I doubt they'll leak it with a lot of you running around begging for a new leak. Just have patience people.

The sun just came out. I mean I haven't seen it yet cause I am in the studio but I know it did. So good morning. I am working on the last song for Thank Me Later. What a different journey it's been this go round. I wish I could share so much more with you but there are just too many new people involved who have dedicated their time to "the reveal". Should I just post the entire thing up now and say no the methods and yes to the mayhem???? Ha. I'd love too, but this is something special that I feel needs to be delivered to you in the way you deserve it to be. Remember the days of well thought out visuals, album thank you's, funk flex rants, all the things that came with the release of a new album, the things we'd look forward too...well I hope I can make you remember. I've worked hard on this body of work and I feel like every artist involved has given me their absolute best. I cannot wait till it's yours. The relief I will experience on release day will be euphoric. I look in peoples eyes and see not so much the doubt, but the uncertainty, the question that looms...and whatever the answer is I think we're both ready for it. These overwhelming moments are to be cherished. On that note fond readers, I will see u soon somewhere along the way. Mr. Walters pull the car around front...its time to go home.
