With Lil Wayne’s absence, Cash Money’s other players are stepping up to the plate with new projects. Among them is Kevin Rudolf, whose second album will take flight this summer.
The “Let It Rock” musician has set a June 15 date for his sophomore effort To the Sky, Rap-Up.com has learned. The follow-up to his 2008 debut In the City includes the first single “I Made It (Cash Money Heroes)” featuring Lil Wayne, Birdman, and Jay Sean, and currently sits at No. 26 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The New York native has a few more surprises in store for his album. “I got a really special record I did with Wayne a while ago and it’s never been released, so I’mma put that on,” he told AceShowbiz. “I’ve got Rivers Cuomo from Weezer. He’s featured on one song and Three 6 Mafia is on a song.”
Rudolf is also eyeing a collaboration with Natasha Bedingfield and one day hopes to work with Jay-Z, Kanye West, and Sade.
