oung Money rapper Nicki Minaj has asked fans for patience as she continues to put in studio work instead of traveling to each market throughout the country.
Writing via Twitter, Nicki spoke to her followers about her work habits.
"Dear Barbz, I haven't written in a while. Plz 4give me. In time, you'll understand. Its now or never barbz. Love Alwayz, HB," she wrote Monday (July 26).
"Yes, I'll be creating lots of new Nictionary terminology in the near future. Maybe I've jus been in a diff space. I'll ask the wizard..."
"And yes, I promise once the work is done I'll be traveling again. Every city, every state, every country. Yes. I said every country. HB"
"The Concert in Toronto was cancelled due to circumstances beyond my control. Canada thinks I'm dangerous. Sorry u guyz. We'll figure it out." (Nicki Minaj's Twitter)
Recently, Minaj opened up about her forthcoming untitled debut album.
"I don't want to say too much, but I just did some work with will.i.am," Minaj said in an interview. "Just something for my album that I'm really excited about. The album is much more emotional than you anticipate, which is a great thing. And I know women are gonna connect to the album so much. I felt like for so many years I was the girl who did the catchy little raps, and it's time for me now to tell my story, and in telling my story, I'm really telling every girl's story. We all go through the same thing. So the album is gonna feel very personal to every female." (Entertainment Weekly)
Producer Swizz Beatz recently confirmed his involvement on the album.
"There's no blockage in what we can do on the creative tip. It's a blank canvas. We respect each other. I respect her, she respects me, and she trusts my judgment. We have a lot of small conversations that end up [turning] into big musical moments. When you hear Nicki on my track, you're gonna see that 'Wow, she just went from here to there.' I'm happy to be a part of that...As far as Nicki, she's an amazing write. She wrote her own choruses, and she's doing some amazing things on the choruses. The third song, the last song [we recorded together], is the only song I did the chorus on, and she might even switch that...I'm not really trying to be on every chorus like that no more." (MTV)
Her debut is currently set to hit stores in mid-fall.
Barbie fans across the world can rejoice. Nicki Minaj's as-yet-untitled debut album will officially hit stores on November 23. The news comes just four days after the Jamaica, Queens rapper took to her twitter account to alert fans about the special day. "Yes. It's time. November 23rd," she wrote last Thursday afternoon. At the time, XXLMag.com spoke to reps for her label at Young Money/Cash Money, and they couldn't confirm the date. But today, they informed us that the date is indeed set in stone. (XXL Mag)
