Lil Wayne, Juvenile, B.G. Come Out To Remember Magnolia Shorty:
                        http://rapfix.mtv.com/2010/12/30/lil...gnolia-shorty/

By D.L. Chandler, with reporting by Akshay Bhansali and Rahman Dukes

New Orleans — Slain Louisiana rapper Renetta "Magnolia Shorty" Lowe's funeral is being held now, just one week after the female MC was gunned down in her New Orleans stomping grounds. The 28-year-old former Cash Money artist, signed to the label in 1995, was found shot multiple times along with 25-year-old Jerome "Man Man" Hampton when their vehicle crashed near a New Orleans East housing complex.

The funeral service is closed to the public and only close friends and family are invited. A sign outside the Fifth African Baptist Church read "No cameras allowed" on the grounds and some of New Orleans' rap elite have shown up in droves. Lil Wayne and Mack Maine were among those sighted and Juvenile is also reported to be in attendance

News of the slaying immediately hit home as a host of N'awlins rap stars spoke out about the senseless killing. “R.I.P to my big sister Magnolia Shorty,” Lil Wayne tweeted. “[T]his is a krazy world.” Mack Maine and Birdman both echoed Wayne’s sentiments via Twitter. “R.I.P Magnolia Shorty,” the Young Money president wrote in. "R.I.P. to my daughter Magnolia Shorty," Birdman followed.

Close friend Juvenile shared one of the fondest memories about the MC who would stop at nothing to get the job done. "I think about how small she was, with a big voice” the rapper told Nola.com. “And how brave she was, as a woman, going to some of the areas she went to and getting on the mic and making her songs."

Magnolia Slim had been widely referred to as the "Queen of Bounce" for her style of rap. In the earlier stages of her career Magnolia made a name for herself in the New Orleans rap scene through her affiliation with Master P’s No Limit empire then later inking a deal with Cash Money Records as the second and last female MC signed to the label. The young MC came up in the home that Bryan and Slim Williams built alongside budding artist Lil Wayne and Juvenile and has been credited with introducing future label acts such as Turk to the Cash Money founders.

Stay tuned for further details regarding the services.
