Cash Money Signs Pop Group Savvy | Extra

Cash Money/Universal Republic has inked a deal with Savvy, a five-member rising teen pop group, starring in the international kid show "The Wannabes," now showing worldwide.

Savvy will break through in North America with the release of their debut album on Cash Money Records, and when the "The Wannabes" premieres September 5 on Starz Kids & Family.

"We are blown away by the range of talent of Savvy," said Cash Money co-CEO Ronald "Slim" Williams. "They work together and embody the hardworking spirit of the Cash Money family."

Savvy is the first pop group signed by Cash Money Records, who also represent Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Drake, Jay Sean and Birdman.

The five members of Savvy -- Shaylen Carroll, Gabrielle "GiGi" LeMaire, Drew Reinartz, Alan Shaw and Andrew Bowen Stern - all hail from Texas and have been performing together for the last six years.

Really hope they stay on the back burner like Porcelain Black (but she's in YM). I'd love to hear some new work from T Lopez though...

Ehh... It could be good. Cash Money signed good pop singers before (Jay Sean & Kevin Rudolf), so there are some hopes.

They should sign Mannie Fresh, Juvi, Turk and B.G.
