There were several reasons, here are the two main:
1. The group wanted to release an album but Birdman didn't accept, so after their 6 mixtapes they split up.
2. According to some members of the group Lil' Wayne used to act like he was the superstar of the group (and the others were shit for him) and he didn't want to share with the others "the glory".
