yeah it always have been for free, its art i know
but some people felt like for example that take care was too much r&b and in case of this he can put out a mixtape for his rap fans?
i mean he wanted to do a r&b mixtape "it's never enough" pre-take care, when he did more rap songs
so why not a rap mixtape now?

Drake dropped a ton of songs/remixes on the OVOXO blog prior to Take Care, think thats how hes building hype now a days.
