Drizzy says that he will be dropping new music with his tour companions before heading out on the trek…
Drake’s upcoming Club Paradise Tour is poised to offer some of the most exciting live moments of the spring and summer, and Drizzy recently hinted to MTV that some of that magic may transfer to wax, as well.
The tour, which will bring Drake as well as J. Cole, Waka Flocka, Meek Mill, 2 Chainz and French Montana to 27 stages across the country, kicks off May 7 in Concord, California. The Young Money rapper said that he chose his tour mates based on people he liked and was a fan of, and that will come to light with some upcoming collaborations.
“I have very strong alliances with these guys that are on this tour with me,” Dizzy explained during a conference call yesterday (April 24). “I guess it’s safe to say now that anybody that I didn’t have a song with before, I have a song with now. I made sure of that. Along with this tour, fans are also going to get some exciting musical material that will probably end up dropping a few days before the tour, so that we can perform it on tour.”
Since he has already worked with J. Cole (“In The Morning”), Waka Flocka (“Round of Applause”) and French Montana (“Stay Schemin’”), it seems that the Toronto native will be dropping new music with 2 Chainz and Meek Mill, at the very least, though he may have joints with the others in the works, as well.
In addition to the new music and the already stacked line up, Drake revealed that he and his cohorts may be treating fans to group shows, if things fall into place. “If we start getting into it and we start really vibing, maybe the last few nights, it’s a collaboration show, maybe we do all of our songs onstage together,” he continued.
This will be the second time that Drake has hit the road since dropping his sophomore album,Take Care. Late last year, he made a college campus run in the U.S. alongside Kendrick Lamar, A$AP Rocky and The Weeknd, before jetting across the pond for some European dates.
“On this tour, I encourage people to get there early, because it’s more [of] a festival vibe, if anything,” he concluded. “It’s one of those days that’s it’s going to start during the sunlight and the sun’s going to drop, it’s outdoors, it’s summertime. I want people to make it a day.”
