(about the Bet Hip Hop awards Cypher rap)

Of course people had to add their two cents saying, oh since she had the cigarette ready it wasnt a freestyle. Ok, sooooo what if before they were about to film it, she thought of it and was like ok, hand me this when I ask for it? I dont think she wrote that shit at home and came to the awards ready to read it off...so how much time between mind and mouth makes a freestyle? Does it even matter? Do you have to be a good freestyler to be a good rapper? Which brings me to another question: why is it ok for every other genre of music to have people write songs for the artist/collaborate, but its just horrible if rappers have a ghostwriter? (Im not saying she does, it just made me think of it since that's another thing people shit talk about....saying wayne wrote her shit...) I mean same w/wayne, w/his rap shit everybody's like omg its his, he's the best, but as soon as he switches to rock, its all good for him to have SnL write prom queen? Im not saying its not all good, im glad she wrote it, but see what I mean? Since its technically a rock song, no one cared that he didnt write it....so what is it about rap?

wen it comes to a freestyle like wen da set is prepared...(bet booth,tv) um writtin is not a big deal.nicki still ripped it without actually reading da material(if she wrote it),.how would u kno if it was a freestyle or not? if she wrote it,she still killed it..if she freestyled,she still killed it.so wuts da point? its not a big deal to me..but i think she wrote it,cause she say she writes all da time during da day.or suntin like that.but idc if she did or not.she killed it!

and on ghostwriters..da rappers that have ghostwriters is just a shame...example-its like if im a racer,and i have someone do all my races and drive for me.then i get da medals n awards for someone elses work.smh

dudes...no one in the cypher freestyled...its not the point, it can also b about showcasing your dopest verse etc. I'm pretty sure everyone else rehearsed their verses as well

This is very true. I'm going off from what I read on the lastest issue of XXL Mag where they interviewed Juelz about that and he said that he did last year's cypher with Fabolous & Jadakiss I think it was and he said that on his way to the show he wrote his little "freestyle" and just memorized it til it was time to do it. Before they got in front of the camera or whatever all three of em sat on different sides of the room or whatever it is & just memorized what it was they "freestyled" so it's like none of em actually freestyled off the top of their domes and she already knew what she was freestyling so she did the cigarette thing although I haven't watched it yet

idk...think cause Wayne does it...dey expect for everyone to freestyle.but theres lots of people that write and till making hits and good music...writing or not....its still music at da end of da day and thats wut matters..
