  • Evolution of Hip Hop

I'm about to write an article about the evolution in hip hop since the beginning of the 90's. I'm just wondering if you could help me out a bit, feed me with material and so on. How it's changed since it all started, difference in rappers/style/swag from then to now etc etc...
    i'd be very thankful!

      Re: Evolution of Hip Hop

Well if you were gonna do about the Evolution you need to start before the 90's...More like the 70's in The Bronx where it all set off the start of Hip Hop.

It was started by young black and latino people who used to dance in a new way, started to MC and scratch records and graffiti.

It really started growing in the late 70's and in October 13th 1979, Rapper's Delight by Sugarhill Gang became the first hip hop song to hit the mainstream and DJ Kool Herc is known to be the first DJ to cut records and use samples.

Hehe, I'm older than most people on here, I was a kid when I first heard Rappers Delight, it was the song that got me into all this! Also don't forget about Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Kurtis Blow and Afrika Bambaataa!!!!
