From my experience:

360 (I own a Elite)

Controllers are very comfortable, natural and user friendly.
Xbox Live may have cost me 26.99 for a year, but the community of XBL, and features and interface/user friendly of it all definitely seems to make the Xbox as a console. Xbox Live is definitely it's best feature and in a different calibre than the PSN. To me without Xbox Live a PS3 would shit all over it all day everyday.
Xbox's do break alot, i've only had one break (On a different console) My current one has lasted me more than a year now, and Microsoft claim to have subsided the RROD problem now.
There are so many better exclusive games for the 360. However God Of War is one of the best games i've ever played, games such as Halo, Gears of war seem to be alot more successful as a franchise and to me the 360 seems to offer more exclusive games that are actually good compared to the PS3.
Micro$oft are a fucking rip off though. And you have to pay (well i did) 60 pounds for a network adapter just to connect online!

PS3:

Very Stylish
Free online, which is very good.
Don't seem to have a issue with breaking, although recently alot of my friends have been telling me there's have the "Yellow light of death" and i laugh because of how xbox's are becoming better at living for more than a month...
Controllers don't seem to be very natural in the hands compared to 360.
Graphics are better, slightly, yes, but PS3 was built to allow better graphics, and more space
Plays Blue ray, but not normal CD's?
Don't you have to buy a microphone to speak online too?
It's live interface is terrible compared to XBL.
PS3's cost alot!
Though i do love Sony as a company

Anyway thats my experiences on them!

IMO Xbox 360 is all-around better than PS3.

360 has better online community, you can have your own avatar, with clothes & icons. Game achievements. Music while playing games.

PS3 has game achievements too, and you can listen to music at certain times.
The only area that the PS3 wins for me is in RPG games and that the ps1 downloads outweigh the arcade games on 360.

If you like RPG then what about Fable II for the Xbox 360. That was a bad ass game.
