class player, great work rate, great all round play. just needs to be more clinical in finishing. Second best english striker at the moment, might be a risk to start him on his own, but when rooney is eligible to play welbeck should play with him.

    433 my team..

    Hart

    Walker/jones
    Lescott/ferdninand
    Cahill
    Cole

    Carrick
    ?
    ?

    Young
    Rooney
    Welbeck.

Really dont know about the midfield.. wish wilshere was not injured.
You must be deluded if you really think Carrick is going get in the team. You've just put all United English players in the team. CM is by far obviously Gerrard and Parker with Lampard someone to come on as well as Milner. Milner will go because he is an engine who will never stop as well as the fact he skillful and powerful, and Lampard because he scores goals. Don't even know how you even left question marks there. Welbeck is not the 2nd best English striker and is no way going to start tbh. Striker that will start while Rooney is out I think should be Carroll. He will lead the line perfectly and win a lot of balls providing a great outlet by holding up the ball. Maybe Welbeck will start with him until Rooney is back but it will hard for him seeing as Bent and Defoe are clinical in front of goal so they have the edge at the moment. Wingers will be Young and I would play Adam Johnson. Johnson has the ability to produce something out of nowhere. Doesn't matter if he hasn't been playing at City. Back-up wingers I would have are Lennon and Oxlade-Chamberlain. Gerrard will be captain.

Carrick is brilliant at what he does, shields the defense and is a great passer, much better then barry and parker. lampard is old, fucking sick of this old generation, time to move on. I know carrick is 30 but he is the best english DM at the minute.

        Parker
        Gerrard
        Lampard.

Deary fucking me, old ass players that fail at every tournament, Carroll is a flop, if he plays we will just lump it forward every time. no passing what so ever, this is why england are so behind. lump it the to big guy and hope for something. Rooney is better with a strike partner, and he and welbeck have been looking great..

And yes i have mainly chose man united players, but thats because united are the only team with good english players and on form. Young is far better then any other english winger at the minute, oxlade-chamberlain is too young for a starter role, have him on the bench. adam johnson never players for city but may be good to have a left footer. Ferdinand will probably be injured so lescott will have to play, but if ferdinand can play then come on you cant say ferdinand is not the better option if fit.

milner is a good choice to be honest, not much more out there.

        Carroll = flop
Crouch = lanky but productive for england, good choice for the bench
Sturridge = greedy twat, even some die hard chelsea fans i know dont like him ,and say he is greedy.

Welbeck is great all round player, needs to improve his finishing. so he will need a partner, if we are playing one up then i would agree welbeck probably wont be good as a lone striker.

Do you know anything about football? Sound like a typical United fan. Parker flops at every tournament even though this is his first. Gerrard was our best player in the World Cup even though he was playing left wing for some reason I will never know. You must be off your fucking head if you are dismissing Gerrard especially. Carrick is not brilliant and never will be. When the fuck has he got any recognition for anything he has done. He's as bad as Barry. Lescott has been one of the top five defenders in the PL this season and shits on Ferdinand now. Rio was class but has lost all his pace. Carroll has taken time to settle in after his knee injury kept him out for 6+ months and now look how he is playing. Looking like how he was when he was at his best. He's only 23 ffs. Most strikers are greedy and that is why they are good because then they get goals so that's why Sturridge is preferred. He's also tricky and a clinical finisher, he's always in the right place. Rooney had a strike partner at WC 2010 and he was a fucking disgrace. Probably the worst performances I've ever seen from any England player. Most of the time he is a liability too. Always getting sent off at crucial moments or for stupid things. Due to this season though he will get another chance and he is lucky he is getting it.

Agree with everything except... Barry has been key to City title win...He started off slow but has proven himself... He deserves to be in the England squad....Unlucky for Wilshere but good thing atleast be will be 100% start of the season!

Think I'm just still pissed off at Barry from the last World Cup haha. I'd have him ahead of Carrick tbf. He just needs to start giving away so many free-kicks and needs to read the game a lot quicker at international level. Probably good to bring on to help stabilise the play during games were England are in the lead. I'm willing to give him another chance. I'm guttered for Wilshere. I think he is a class act and will be world class in a couple of years. Seeing as Wilshere is injured, I would put Barry in then. If Wilshere was fit then Barry would not get the nod so it's gone in his favour.

                  1) i never said parker was a flop, i just said carrick is better then him. explains why parker is at spurs and carrick has been great and consistent in uniteds last 4 title wins.

                  2) i never dismissed gerrard, i dismissed him playing with parker and lampard, play gerrard with carrick and say milner, and gerrard will excel.

                  3) Carroll has been a flop all season until the last few games, few good games at the end of a season merits a place over a young striker who has been excellent all season in united's title challenge? Are you saying welbeck has been rubbish all season and worse then carroll? are you fucking stupid? is that why he has dismissed berbatov, and hernandez for a first team spot who were great the season before.

Sturridge only has 2 more league goals then welbeck, for a greedy apparent clinical finisher you would expect more. where as he only has 2 more goals, and welbecks all round play is fantastic.

I agree on rooney, but this season he only picked up 1 yellow card all season. hopefully he has matured and plays well for england this time.

                    1) You listed Gerrard, Lampard and Parker then put "Deary fucking me, old ass players that fail at every tournament". Suggesting all three of them are old and should not be playing. Parker is obviously better than Carrick. Parker is more passionate, stronger, a much better tackler and a decent passer. Passing is maybe the only thing that Carrick has the edge on but that is not required in their position.

                    2) I said Gerrard should play with Parker. Parker will provide an anchor is the midfield and this in turn will give Gerrard something that he strives off. Freedom. With Parker, Gerrard will not be able to join in with attacks much more effectively and he will be one of England's greatest weapons. If you were to play another CM, I would probably play Milner as well as he has ability and will also put in a huge shift.

                    3) Carroll was not a "flop". A "flop" is someone who comes to the club and then leaves after relative time having done nothing. Due to injuries, Carroll has played for Liverpool for around 6 months at a desirable fitness level and is now regaining full fitness and full form. His main turning point was against Man Utd in the FA Cup and from there he has not looked back. I did not say Welbeck has been rubbish all season but what I am saying is that defenders would rather play against Welbeck than Carroll in the form that he is currently in. Carroll is a defender's nightmare especially with his physique something that Welbeck is not currently. Maybe he will be in a few seasons but a player like Welbeck must score more goals especially when Bent and Defoe are very similar and score much more goals.

Sturridge has got two more goals from playing on the wing all season, playing in a less successful team than Welbeck and from having far fewer starts with a lot of his appearances being from the bench. I also hope Rooney plays well as I am only interested in England being successful in the tournament. After all it has been a long time and we haven't seen it in my lifetime. We can only wait until the 16th May when the team is announced and allow Hodgson to choose his own team and we must support his decision. Either way I have full confidence England can perform in this tournament.

I'm just stating who i would play in rooney's absence, maybe we should play welbeck and carroll upfront together, and whichever one has played better will play with rooney when he is back.

Yeah it's worth a go. Fighting for their place will bring the best of the players as well which is only a good thing.

                        • Henry Winter tweeting that Carroll is in the squad. Also saying Ferdinand has been dropped, so has Richards but Walker misses out with injury. Looking like RB's will be Johnson and Jones. All from what he's saying though. Apparently JT in aswell.
