Religion Thread.

Now this could get very heated because people's opinions can be so strong towards what they believe in.
However, I'm curios to see what everyone believes in.
My opinion? I believe in evolution. I honestly find it outrageous to believe that there is a man in the sky who tells you don't break these " 10 rules " or you will BURN in the firey underworld. I think people who believe in god are naive and simple minded. Carbon dating proves religion is not real to me, because according to the bible, the earth has only been around for what? 4,000 years? Carbon dating shows that is not true. Also, dinosaurs? Hm..

I mean I also believe in evolution etc ..but I would call myself more of a agnostic..I don't believe in organised religion because in the end it's all run by men and has been existing since centuries just to control people. All that shit that puts people in fear, I don't believe any of that shit. It's all written by greedy power hungry men 1000s of years ago. However I still can't believe that there isn't some higher power ..be it a man, be it a force..I have no idea..I choose to believe that I just don't have a clue about it so I don't let it affect me ...thats all.

There might have been but I don't see one so it's worth a shot now.
But @Chronic, I used to view the world that way. However, I would just like some type of proof there is a higher power. I am a man of science. But shit, if there is a higher power, it is DEFINITELY not a man in the sky with 10 rules you must follow. Christianity is just a joke. Want to know what's even funnier? Churches don't pay taxes. They pass around a basket saying put money in it. FUCK you , you crooks.
No better than the government. Only reason I don't believe in a higher power is that higher power would of had to create the world. SOMETHING would have had to. And if you believe in evolution, than the answers are provided.

@Cody, you'd be surprised, look into the theory of evolution and big bang theory. It makes more sense then you think.

I am a Christian and I strongly believe that there is a god, but some stuff that is in the bible and what other stuff that we are told growing up just doesn't seem logical to me. I believe there is a god because I don't think that the universe just appeared. I feel that it had to start somehow, but every way I look at it just has flaws to it.

I believe god started everything and that there is a heaven, but when it comes to people saying "God decided it was her time to go" I say that's bullshit and look at science. If someone dies of cancer then they died of Cancer, not because god felt it was her time to leave the Earth. A person could go get AIDs with ease if they wanted to and die, that pretty much rules out the theory of god determining when you die.

What happens after you die? I like to think that you go to heaven and live out the rest of your life there, but I just hate the fact that it can't be proven. Nothing about afterlife can be proven whatsoever. My brother thinks that you just die and that's the end. I find that extremely hard to believe. That's why I someone believe in reincarnation, but not entirely.

Either way, I would like to debate and maybe learn something new from this thread. Let the major debate begin.

I use to claim being agnostic, but after a while I just stopped caring.

I would need proof of there being a higher power before believing in anything.

If any God actually exist out there, don't you think that he would fix everything wrong with the world instead of letting us do it ourselves after hundreds of years?

If there actually were to stones with ten rules on them, why can't we find them, but we can find fossils and old tools from several millennia ago?

I rather believe in evolution before anyone tries to make me believe in a God.
