Nah MJ never had to deal with the defense Kobe dealt with almost all of his career. Its way different now then it was back then so thats what makes Kobe #1 in my books. Theres always someone better then the last. Kobe will be passed up by someone too but for now no one is near him

            MJ > All

And it's not close. He was so much better than everybody else that he got bored and retired... If he hadn't done that, the Bulls could have legitimately won 8 consecutive championships.

He said he "lost the fire to play" or something along those lines because he felt nobody could challenge him anymore, so basically yeah he was just bored lol. Defenses were allowed to be a lot more physical back then too

You cant be telling me Defense was better back then... no way bro. So your proving my point, nigga got bored cuz everybody sucks which mean its easier to score for him. MJ played in a era less talented. Kobe put up those numbers playing against better people. Thus meaning Kobe is better.

he was 40 years old when he retired I'm pretty sure he wasn't bored just couldn't keep up with everyone at that age

unless your talking about when he left the bulls when his dad was murdered?

Defenses were allowed to play a lot more physically then... There was no such thing as a hand check foul back then and there was also no defensive 3 seconds, so teams could just pack the lane against him. If defenders were allowed to play Kobe they way they could play Michael it would be tougher for him to score.

I mean when he retired after the 92-93 season. He said he sat down with Phil and neither of them could think of another way to challenge him, so he retired.

Jordan would be so much better in this era. As Wolverine pointed out, the defenses were soooo much more physical back then. And the guards were much taller then too. Jordan would have a field day against the smaller guards of today.

I agree, players back then gave so much more effort than players now. A lot of players now play defense halfassed. Jordan played against some very physical defenses like the Piston's Bad Boy teams. I think he is the GOAT no doubt, no matter when he played.
