program too convert files without losing quality?

I need a program too convert files without losing alot quality, ive searched alot and I find great programs, but the trials will only convert 3 or 5 minutes of the file and im not rich and can't afford too buy one, even if I had money I wouldn't doo it cause it might be something wack about it or the PC crash and I will lose it (I once paid 100 Dollar for a program, PC crashed and I lost it )
