Mate, honestly I know 12-14 years is a long time but Uni is a must in the current climate. It opens so many avenues for further career growth.
Anyway, it's your decision, enjoy .
I have a few career paths, business, finance, maybe even banking.

Depends, there's alot of pointless degrees out there. I didn't know what I wanted to study aswell so that's another reason for me not going, and also what's the point in getting into 25,000 pounds in debt when a degree doesn't even gareentee a better job in the long term these days anyway? I don't like being in debt, i'm a very financially aware person and for me the negatives outway the positives in my own decisions. Don't get me wrong, uni is a must for degrees in sciences and other areas but these days you can get a degree in anything and get into a shit uni and have a degree.

By the time my friends get out of uni in 3-4 years I will have 4 years experience and training in the fields I want to progress in and be earning a starting salary equal to what there degree promises.

I can't speak for the UK, but I'll assume it's similar, the average salary for a degree holder is 108k and for a person without a degree is 62k. Mate, 10-20 years sown the line, you want to change jobs, they'll look at your qualifications first then they'll see experience, it is a must. In four years perhaps your salary will be similar to your degree holding friends but after a stage your career growth will be stnted. Look mate I'm not taking shots at you I'm just trying to inform you the value of a degree in the long run.

Average degree salary here is 47K

I know what you mean, but it's easy to say "i've got a degree" but a lot of people can't do anything with it, they're not capable of appying it into real world experiences. Not to mention tutition fees can be up to 9,000 a year in England now, so that's 27,000 in debt from tutition fees alone without food and luxuries..Nah.. I'm good..

Doesn't England have a HEX system as well. That solves the tuition fee.

Wish do you average salary of non degree holder.

                  HEX system?

I don't know without a degree I can't find any sources, but a male in the UK earns on average 30.3K a year.

I've not ruled it out, I said to myself I'll work and if I honestly think I won't progress I'll go study something at uni, but a big part of my problem was not knowing what to study and therefore I didn't want to rush into something I didn't want to learn or was confident choosing that and then wasting all that money. But yeah thanks mate
